Bolton Group Oxford, Mississippi

Services · For owners and executives

Personal legal work for the people behind the businesses we serve.

A business owner’s legal needs don’t end at the company. Succession planning, equity transfers, estate matters, executive compensation, charitable planning — these are questions that come up alongside running a business and rarely get the attention they deserve.

Bolton Group works with the owners and executives of our business clients on the personal legal matters that intersect with the business. The same firm that knows your company knows your situation.

What we handle

Succession planning Preparing for the transition of a closely-held business to the next generation, key employees, or an outside buyer
Equity transfers Gifting equity, structuring family ownership, planning for liquidity events
Estate planning Wills, trusts, beneficiary planning, coordination with tax and financial advisors
Executive compensation Employment agreements, equity grants, deferred compensation for senior leaders
Personal matters as they arise The legal questions that come with being an owner

How it works

Engagements are typically project-based, scoped to the matter at hand. For clients on ongoing counsel arrangements, personal matters for owners and executives can often be folded into the existing relationship.

We coordinate with each client’s CPA and financial advisor as needed. We do not provide tax or investment advice; we provide legal counsel that fits the rest of the planning each client already has in place.

Ready to talk?

Most engagements start with an informal 30-minute conversation about you, what your business is working on and whether we’re a good fit. No prepared pitch, no commitment to engage.
